The Filipino Ministry serves as a vibrant expression of faith and cultural identity, enriching the parish community through the sharing of cherished Filipino religious traditions and customs. Rooted in a deep sense of spirituality, family, and community, the ministry actively celebrates ethnic observances that highlight the Filipino Catholic heritage.
Simbang Gabi, a traditional Advent celebration, warmly invites parishioners to participate in joyful worship, often accompanied by Filipino music, decorations, and food. Celebrating the lives of the Filipino Saints, Lorenzo Ruiz and Pedro Calungsod, fosters our unity as a community of believers by collectively imploring their intercession, for strength and inspiration, for guidance and perseverance in overcoming our daily challenges so that we may remain true and steadfast in our faith.
Through these events and more, the Filipino Ministry not only preserves its heritage but also invites the larger St. Leo’s parish community to experience the richness of our Filipino faith traditions. It serves as a bridge of fellowship, helping to deepen spiritual connections and promote inclusivity within the parish.
