We are fortunate to have a pantry located in our school; it has a big freezer that was donated by a business in our community. Food and monetary donations come from the parishioners, our school, different parish societies, businesses and other town organizations.
Once a month St. Leo's Social Concerns Ministry prepares a dinner for the Soup Kitchen at First Presbyterian Church in Passaic. This soup kitchen welcomes about 135 people to enjoy a complete dinner and fellowship. During Lent we also take part with another inter-faith community in Fair Lawn and provide a soup luncheon where people come together and share their faith experience.
The Social Concerns Ministry and the many volunteers who help, understand that we are not an "Agency" that can provide large support to any one person or family. Our goal is to help out in a very small way, any way we can. Anyone who has been involved with our committee receives so much more then we could ever give.
We are grateful for what we can do.
